Best intentions

Often, I have the best intentions in what I do, but while the intention is noble, such as retrieving many things that I believe will be helpful in a given situation, the results can be mixed when the result is apparent. As a friend pointed out to me recently, “Intention is everything when doing a task.”

Intention

The Merriam-Webster Dictionary has several ways to describe intention, seen here https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/intention

I am talking about this explanation: intention implies little more than what one has in mind to do or bring about.

Today, I intend to bring my thoughts regarding intention to the forefront. I believe this will allow me to examine my intentions behind actions I have and have not taken to better understand myself and my intentions behind the actions taken and not taken.

I browsed through some of my old projects written in C# today. I intended to review the apps I have developed and come up with something extraordinary using the skills I have learned. While I believe the intention was there to be creative, what it did was instead make me think about the intention, primarily because while reviewing what I had made, I came to a conclusion, be it accurate or not, that the intention behind some of the apps was not well thought out.

I have begun to understand that while my partner challenges me daily to be thoughtful with clear intentions, it can be personally and professionally challenging. Thinking before acting and only doing so when there is a clear intention that the desired message or action is done correctly can be difficult. I decided today to research intention and came across this beautiful video on YouTube about the power of intention.

I love the ideas presented in this video as it is motivational and gives me a reality check about my intentions and how they can improve my life. She talks about the intention to do one healthy thing daily, which has positively affected her, as seen in her life and the video.

I have always intended to be a software developer, and so far, I know I am a software developer. Now, I plan to master turning my skills in software development into a revenue stream I can utilize.

So far, my job applications have gotten less than great results. I hope the future will give me something attainable and perfect for my talents. The intention is to live through the inflation and high cost of living so that I can become comfortable when I retire and have what I want and need to live happily.

Enjoy your day, and may your intention be transparent and help you achieve what you intend to achieve.
